Easy Upload Pricing Breakdown: Print Rates, Optional Cutting & Volume Discounts

Edited on this dummy store

Easy Upload is built for shops that want a clear quote before they press: upload the art, pick the print type, set the quantity, and optionally add cutting. You pay for printed area at transparent per-square-inch rates — and the more square inches you buy, the better the volume discount. Here is the real breakdown for apparel DTF, UV DTF, and the optional cut service.

How Easy Upload pricing works

Every line starts the same way: true design size × copies × the rate for your print type. PNG uploads can auto-crop transparent padding so empty pixels do not inflate the billed area. The running total in the tool shows area, rate per square inch, and copies before you add to cart.

That is the print charge. Everything else — including cutting — is either optional or a separate add-on. No mystery sheet fee hiding behind a “convenience” upload.

Print type rates (per square inch)

These are the live Easy Upload base rates on Discount DTF. Specialty films cost more because the media and process cost more — we do not pretend glitter or UV share the apparel DTF price.

Print typeBase rate
Regular DTF (full colour)$0.017 / in²
Regular DTF — white only$0.0151 / in²
UV DTF (single-sided)$0.023 / in²
Double-sided UV DTF$0.034 / in²
DTF Reflective$0.036 / in²
DTF Glow in the Dark$0.040 / in²
DTF Glitter$0.040 / in²

Use regular DTF for apparel. Use UV DTF when the job is hard goods — cups, glass, hard surfaces — not soft tees. Double-sided UV is for windows and clear substrates that need a print that reads from both sides.

Volume discounts: the more you buy, the better the rate

Easy Upload applies a volume discount percent once your order’s total printed area hits a tier. Bigger area unlocks a deeper cut off the print subtotal. Thresholds (total square inches in the upload order):

Total areaDiscount
10,000 in²Starting tier (0% off base)
20,000 in²2% off
30,000 in²3% off
40,000 in²5% off
50,000 in²6% off
60,000 in²7% off
70,000 in²+10% off

Batching client jobs, event merch, and repeat logos into one larger upload is how shops land the better tiers — same quality film, lower effective rate. The tool shows the volume discount line when you cross a threshold.

Optional cutting: a paid add-on, not automatic

Cutting is optional and billed as a paid service. On Easy Upload, the cut option is currently $0.20 per copy. Leave it off if you will trim or press from an uncut layout yourself. Turn on “Cut all designs” when you want individual pieces finished for the platen.

  • Print only — you pay printed area × rate (minus any volume discount).
  • Print + cut — same print math, plus $0.20 × number of copies for the cutting service.

Think of cutting as labour you can buy à la carte. High-volume shops that already knife or plotter-cut in-house often skip the fee. Pop-up sellers and last-minute event orders usually toggle it on so every piece hits the press without extra bench time.

That split matters. Many upload tools elsewhere bake cutting into a higher “convenience” rate or spring a cut surcharge at checkout. Here the cut fee is visible, optional, and charged per copy so you only buy the labour you need.

UV DTF on the same upload path

Hard-goods shops do not need a second vendor. Select UV DTF at $0.023/in² or double-sided UV DTF at $0.034/in², then use the same area × quantity math. Volume tiers apply the same way — larger UV runs still unlock better discounts. Specialty apparel films (reflective, glow, glitter) sit on their own rates above; they do not inherit the regular DTF number.

UV lead times are often a bit longer than same-day regular DTF — plan specialty and UV with that in mind.

How this compares to typical market pricing (no names)

We will not list other brands. The patterns customers complain about are consistent:

  • Opaque “from” rates that jump once padding, minimum tiles, or forced sheet sizes enter the quote.
  • Cutting bundled into a boutique upload price whether you need it or not — or added as a late fee after you thought you knew the total.
  • UV and apparel mixed under one low teaser that never survives checkout.
  • Little or no volume ladder — small and large shops pay the same high per-inch rate.

Discount DTF’s Easy Upload answer is the opposite: published print-type rates, optional cutting at a stated per-copy fee, and volume discounts that improve as your square inches grow. Quality stays on professional film — soft-hand apparel DTF or crisp UV for hard goods — without dressing a markup as “easy.”

Quality still comes first

A clean rate only helps if the transfer presses and washes well. Upload at 300 DPI at final size. Prefer PNG with transparency for auto-crop and tight cut paths when you do buy cutting. Confirm resolution in the tool before checkout — the on-screen preview is for placement, not a substitute for a sharp original.

On quality, the rate ladder does not change the film family. Whether you order a few hundred square inches or climb toward the 10% tier, apparel DTF still presses with the same soft hand-feel expectations, and UV still needs the right hard-goods prep. Volume discounts reward bigger print area — they do not swap you onto a thinner transfer.

Quick checklist before you upload

  1. Pick the right print type — apparel DTF vs UV vs specialty.
  2. Size art to the final press dimensions; watch auto-crop on PNGs.
  3. Decide if you need optional cutting ($0.20/copy) or will finish pieces yourself.
  4. Batch area when you can — more square inches unlocks better volume discounts.
  5. Prefer Easy Upload for design + quantity; use the gang sheet builder when you want full nesting control.

Bottom line

Easy Upload pricing is print area × published type rate, plus optional cutting at $0.20 per copy when you want it, plus volume discounts up to 10% as your square inches climb. Regular DTF starts at $0.017/in², UV at $0.023/in², double-sided UV at $0.034/in² — with clearer specialty rates listed above. Compare that to shops that hide cut fees or freeze you at one high “upload” price no matter how much you buy.

See your live total: open Easy Upload, choose DTF or UV, toggle cutting only if you need it, and watch the volume tier update as the job grows.
