DTF Prints and DTF Transfers Are the Same Film

Ask for DTF prints or DTF transfers and you are ordering the same thing: heat-applied film. Ink on carrier, powder adhesive, pressed onto the garment. The wording changes by shop. The platen job does not.

Cut-to-size sheets from DiscountDTF peel clean, hold wash, and ship tracked from Canadian production. Gang sheets start around $0.02/in² of printed area — nest logos so you are not paying for empty film.

How shops use the two names

“Prints” is what a lot of customers say when they mean the finished graphic — left chest, back mark, sleeve hit. “Transfers” is the trade word for the film itself before it hits the shirt. Both point at the same product line here.

What shops actually filter for is film that is easy to apply: hot peel, clean release, opaque white on darks. That is press speed, not a marketing label.

What to check before you buy

• White — solid on black tees, no grey wash-through
• Peel — comes off in one motion at your normal cotton / poly settings
• Waste — nested gang sheet so you pay for ink, not borders
• Transit — printed in Canada, tracked to your metro
